With flavors of jasmine, green apple, apricot, and lime, Riesling is my absolute favorite white grape! Most of the Riesling wine produced is dry, so why do people think that it is a sweet wine?!?! Join me as we explore Riesling's regional, climatic and maturation influences.

About the Event

With flavors of jasmine, green apple, apricot, and lime, Riesling is my absolute favorite white grape!  It is produced throughout the world, in a range of styles from bone-dry to very sweet.  But most of the Riesling wine produced is bone-dry...  So why do people think that all Riesling is sweet?!?!  Let's go back to basics with Riesling to remind ourselves of the different styles, expressions and flavors that I have come to love.  And to explore them all!

Come join us as we explore the different taste profiles that Riesling can express, as we learn about regional, climatic and maturation influences.

Come with your favorite Riesling wine with an alcohol level equal to or greater than 11.5%.  If you are a novice, I would recommend one from Germany.  If you are feeling bold, get a second wine with an alcohol level less than or equal to 10% so you can taste the difference between a dry and off-dry (sweeter) wine.

This week I would like to honor Project Eats, a neighborhood-based project that develops urban farms in underserved communities centered around the concept of "using what we have, creating what we need".  They're growing food where people need fresh food.  They're creating jobs, cultivating skills, spreading knowledge and building new economies so every neighborhood is a place where health and well-being thrive.  If you would like to help me in raising funds for this amazing charity, please consider sending $10 to my Venmo account: @Beth-Bornstein-1 for donation.  This is NOT required to attend the tasting.

Please note, I may be taping the class to use for my own purposes, including potentially adding to my website.  If you do not wish to be included in the tape, please don't turn on your video and disguise your name.

Cheers!
